Young poet Abdul Rahman Yousef has met the great novelist Naguib Mahfouz on Tuesday June22nd, 2004in the floating boat “Farah” at Giza Courniche at half past seven in the evening.
The poet recited some of the poems of his last collection entitled “Fe Sehhat Al Watan” (Here’s To Homeland!)
The great author expressed great admiration of what he heard and wished the poet and his generation of young writers all success.
The meeting was attended by a number of Arabic and Egyptian writers, most important of which was Egypt’s great writer Gamal Al Ghitani.
